Consulate General of India in Medan celebrated the 155th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Indian Nation at Universitas Sari Mutiara, Medan, North Sumatra on Wednesday, 2 October 2024. Gandhi Jayanti was a celebrated by the Consulate General of India in Medan with Universitas Sari Mutiara, Indian community, and friends of India. The celebration began with the offering of floral tributes at the Gandhi statue by Consul General of India in Medan, Mr. Ravi Shanker Goel. Mr. Parlindungan Purba, Chairman of Universitas Sari Mutiara, was also present. Around 50 people, including members of the Indian community and Friends of India, attended the event.
During his address, Consul General Mr. Ravi Shanker Goel highlighted the enduring teachings of Gandhi Ji, which continue to inspire humanity. Additionally, Mr. Parlindungan Purba, Chairman of Universitas Sari Mutiara, expressed gratitude for the ongoing collaboration aimed at empowering students through education and cultural initiatives.
