The Consulate General of India in Medan is celebrated 3 days 25 to 27 February, 2025 the Indian Film Festival in Medan. On this occasion, the famous Indian movie “English Vinglish” has been screened at Maple Theater, Grand City Hall, Medan. During this festival Mr. Ravi Shanker Goel, welcomed the guests and stated that this screening would further strengthen cultural ties between the two countries – INDONESIA Mitra Selamanya, Partners Forever. He also expressed that the film serves as an inspiration for the younger generation, especially for those who wish to learn English. The Chief Guest on opening of Indian Film Festival was Mr. Zumri Sulthony, Head Department of Cultural, Tourism and Creative Economy of North Sumatra Government. The Chief Guest on 2nd day of Indian Film Festival was Prof. Dr. Dra. T. Thyrhaya Zein, M.A., Dean Faculty of Cultural Science University of North Sumatra. The Chief Guest on 3rd day of Indian Film Festival was H.E. Teungku Malik Mahmud Al Haythar, Wali Nanggroe Aceh. Movie watched by Consul Generals, Honorary Consuls, Diplomats; many Senior officers of SUMUT; Senior officers of Regional & City Metropolitan Police, Faculty & Students of Universities and schools, members of Media, ITEC & ICCR alumni and Friends of India.
