Consul General of India, Mr Ravi Shanker Goel attended the ASEAN-India Cruise Dialogue in Sabang on 29.10.2024 organised by Ministry of Tourism and Economy Creative Republic of Indonesia and BPKS (Badan Pengusahaan Kawasan Sabang / Sabang Free Trade Zone and Port Management Body). The speakers in the Dialogue were from representative of Ministry of Transportation Republic of Indonesia, Singapore Tourism Board, Cochin Port Authority in India, Thai Cruise Business Association in Thailand, Destination Asia, Ben Line Agencies, and BPKS. Mr Vipin R. Menoth, traffic manager at Cochin Port Authority from India spoked about about Government of India regulatory issues related to Cruise Business and provided Indian Perspective in his presentation related to facilities available at various Ports in India. He highlighted that Andaman & Nicobar Islands which are very close to Sabang Port and many other Indian ports provide excellent opportunity to connect the IMT Golden Triangle of International cruise tourism in the region with India. The Indian connection with ASEAN in cruise tourism will bring more Indian tourists in this region. The ASEAN-India Cruise Dialogue provided the facts about policy strategies, opportunities and challenges in Cruise and Tourism sector that can help connect Sabang Port with more international tourists.
